September 2024 Highlights

We cannot believe it is almost September already. How crazy!  Here’s what we are looking forward to getting this month.

ADULT FICTION

Wanda Brunstetter, The Protector. First in a new Amish country series from this perennially popular author. As of this publishing (August 2024) there are only two books.

Mary Conneally, Chasing the Horizon. First in a new pioneer historical Christian fiction series by this popular author. As of this publishing (August 2024) there are only three books.

Catherine Coulter, Flashpoint. Latest in this popular author’s FBI series of 27 books. A good mystery from a consistent and popular author.

Janet Dailey, Calder Country.  A historical romance adding to the story of the Calder family, this is the fourth book in the Calder Brand series of four. This author is a consistently popular romance author.

Assunta Martin, The Adventures & Escapades of Bass Reeves. This book is by a new local author with strong ties to our community. It is an historical fiction book about famous lawman Bass Reeves, set in Indian Territory (now Oklahoma).

Fern Michaels, Plain Jane. An urban romantic suspense stand alone novel from a perennial favorite author.

James Patterson & Mike Lupica. Prolific author Patterson teams up with young adult fiction author Lupica to bring us this thrilling mystery about a female detective. First in a series that has two books as of August 2024.

Tracie Peterson, A Love Discovered. First in a new pioneer historical Christian fiction series. This author is well known and consistent. As of August 2024 there are three titles in this series.

James Reasoner, The Iron Horse. First novel in this western fiction series by Reasoner and Robert Vaughn.

Karen Robards, Some Murders in Berlin. A stand alone historical fiction novel by a perennially favorite author.

JUNIOR & YOUNG ADULT FICTION & NON-FICTION

Nathan Hale, Let’s Make History & Above the Trenches. Two of the latest nonfiction graphic novels about historical events, written for juveniles. These books generally read on a 2nd or 3rd grade level, and as graphic novels are great for reluctant or struggling readers.

Terri Libenson, Becoming Brianna & Truly Tyler. Two books in the popular graphic novel series ‘Emmie & Friends’. These books generally read on a 3rd grade level, feature topics relevant to kids, and as graphic novels are great for reluctant or struggling readers.
