Library News

•The Library will close early at 3:00pm on Wednesday, November 22, 2017, for Thanksgiving. We have a Drop Box Slot on the north side of the building, in the alley, for after-hours book returns. Please have a safe holiday!

The Belles & Books Club will be meeting Wednesday, December 13, 2017, from 12:00pm to 1:00pm here in the Community Room of the City Building. The gals read Silver Bells by LuAnne Rice. Bring a lunch to share and join the food, fun, and fellowship!

• Come see the OKC Zoo program ‘Gotta Go!’ A great family program! Friday December 22 at 10:00am in the Fairview Community Center.  And a ‘Special Guest’ just might make an appearance!

• Check out our Facebook page here !

• Our wifi is free, and available to the public 24/7. You  must be on or near the library grounds to use it, though. It is called ‘Free Library Wifi’ and there is no password to use it.

• Make sure you have a good book – or three – to curl up with on a rainy afternoon!

Funeral services were held at the United Methodist Church on March 25, 2000, with the Reverend Chuck Gilbert officiating.

Harold Charles Acre was born near Canton on August 10, 1925, to Charles and Margaret Paulsen Acre.

He married Edith Mae Chaloupek in Canton on October 20, 1946.

He was inducted into the Army Air Corps in 1943 and was stationed at  Sheppard Air Force Base in Wichita Falls, Texas.

He is survived by his wife Edith of Canton; one daughter Carlotta England of Chester; two sons, Robert and Dennis Acre of Canton; one sister Mamie Masonhall of Canton; nine grandchildren; two great-grandchildren.
